It was my assumption that they would just dive right in. This was not the case.
Some of them were a liiiiittle skeptical.
And some were still half asleep.
These boys don’t get ice cream, well, ever really. And for a few of the new boys I’m almost sure this was their first taste of the amazing stuff.
So they started nibbling at it slowly.
But before long they were totally digging it.
By the end they were pretty enthusiastic about it.
The teachers enjoyed it, as it was a treat for them as well.
It was a fun afternoon and joy to be able to see kids have their first taste of ice cream! The next week a few of them asked me when there would be ice cream again. Kids!
I don’t blame them though. I often think about the next time I will get to eat ice cream, too.
So thank you to those friends who made this shindig possible and to the rest of my family, friends, and supporters who make every other day here possible for me!
I can’t think of a better way to have spent my birthday!
